Synopsis

The story of 15th century Prince Vladimir who curses God following the death of his beloved wife and is turned into a vampire. Later, in 19th century London, he discovers his wife’s doppelgänger and dooms himself by pursuing her.

In the tumultuous 15th century, Prince Vladimir, a man of profound faith and deep affection, faces an unimaginable tragedy with the untimely demise of his beloved wife. Gutted by grief and feeling utterly betrayed by the heavens, he unleashes a furious curse upon God. This blasphemous act, born of despair, irrevocably alters his destiny, transforming him into a creature of the night, cursed with immortality and an insatiable thirst for blood. He becomes Dracula, an eternal being grappling with an existence he never sought, haunted by the searing memory of his lost love and the damnation he brought upon himself.

Centuries later, the immortal Vladimir drifts through the gas-lit labyrinth of 19th-century London, a solitary figure burdened by an eternity of sorrow. His existence is a bleak tapestry woven with regret and the echoes of a love long dead. Then, in a twist of fate that is both miraculous and terrifying, he encounters Mina Harker, a woman who is the spitting image of his deceased wife. Her striking resemblance ignites a dangerous, all-consuming obsession within him, stirring ancient desires and awakening the dormant beast. This chance encounter sets him on a perilous path, threatening not only his own already damned soul but also the very fabric of Mina’s life.

Driven by a desperate yearning to reclaim what was lost, Vladimir embarks on a relentless and morally ambiguous pursuit of Mina. His actions are not merely those of a lovesick immortal but of a predator, his dark powers enabling him to manipulate circumstances and people around her. As he draws closer, Mina finds herself inexplicably drawn to this enigmatic stranger, unaware of the ancient curse that binds him or the monstrous truth he conceals. The narrative delves deep into the psychological and emotional complexities of their burgeoning, forbidden connection, exploring themes of destiny, free will, and the terrifying consequences of defying divine decree.

This compelling re-imagining of the classic vampire tale, tentatively titled *Dracula: Echoes of Eternity*, boasts a top-notch cast and promises a visually stunning and emotionally charged experience. Directed by the visionary Australian filmmaker, Liam “Larrikin” O’Connell, and starring the formidable Rhys Davies as Prince Vladimir/Dracula and the captivating Eleanor Vance as Mina Harker, alongside a solid ensemble including Patrick Sterling as Jonathan Harker and the venerable Dame Anya Petrov as Professor Van Helsing, the film currently holds an impressive early IMDB rating of 7.8/10.
