I’ve had some frustrating experiences with Apple Stores in Germany before, but this most recent visit was by far the worst—not just for an Apple Store, but for any store I’ve ever been to. I went in with two objectives: to repair my Powerbeats Pro earbuds and to purchase a new iPhone, but neither went well.
First, I had an appointment, but it was running 15 minutes late. I used that time to inquire about getting a new iPhone on an installment plan with the option to upgrade in the future. To my surprise, the application was declined with no explanation. When I asked the staff why, they simply said, “We don’t know,” and left it at that. No support, no attempt to help me understand the issue, and no solutions. This lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially for a brand like Apple. If you offer installment plans, your staff should at least know why they might be declined or guide customers on what to do next.
Then came the repair issue. One of my Powerbeats Pro earbuds has a degraded battery, so I asked for a replacement. The quoted price? €125—just for the battery. Fine, I get that repairs can be costly, but instead of helping me explore options, the staff shifted straight into overselling me a new pair of Beats. They even dismissed my current ones as “old” and implied it wasn’t worth fixing them. I wasn’t there to be sold something new; I just wanted a repair. The whole interaction felt pushy and disrespectful, as if they cared more about making a sale than actually helping me.
I understand that Apple has to deal with a lot of EU regulations, and maybe that adds complexity, but as a customer, I shouldn’t have to bear the brunt of those challenges. When I come to an Apple Store, I expect professional service and knowledgeable staff, not a confusing, unhelpful, and sales-driven experience. This visit left me frustrated, unheard, and honestly questioning the quality of Apple’s in-store service.
I’ve been there to fix a pair of AirPods, which are from march 2024.
I have ask to a first guy, who listened to me, looked the AirPods, and told me to go and see a collègue he show me.
I went to that second guy, explained my problem, that guy looked my AirPod, and he told me to…
… go and see another collègue he show me !!!
So I went to the 3rd guy, explained my problem (again !), Jake (it’s his name) looked my AirPod and told me that I have to take an appointment to can show that to a technician, because they are too busy (the store was almost empty !), and it’s like that.
So I left without having my AirPods repaired, exactly what they were expecting to not have to work or help customers !
I had never seen a so bad service for something, and I’m thinking in choosing another brand than Apple for my next phone, tablet and devices !
I was in this kiosk 2 times for the first time to buy an iPhone, I stood waiting for a man for 30 minutes, but still I was patient. Today in a hurry I ran to buy Eirtag stood for 20 minutes, and left.Staff at all do not react in any way, zero customer orientation, as a result, in a lack of time, I had to buy in a store nearby.
It’s simply incredible for a person to come as a guest to an establishment and not be greeted. This is disrespect for both the guest and the buyer
This store is the worst Apple store, I have ever experienced. The only way to get your mac products repaired is for you to come to the store and for you to supervise the repair as if you are an Apple supervisor technician. Imagine, you come to the Apple store to drop of your Mac product for repair….they refuse to take it. You can’t even stand in a line. You can ask for an appointment and when none are available….sorry….you will have to come back another day. If you live far away….this Apple store doesn’t care. If you are disabled with Agoraphobia- this Apple Store has an abhorrent policy that that they do not care and you still must come to their shop to make supervision of the Apple technician. I mailed my Mac product to this store, they refused service and mailed the Mac product back to me unrepaired. This is a mojor customer dissatisfaction and has shaken my long term faith in Apple products to such a degree I’ve decided not to spend any more of my precious time working with Apple on it. My time and money are better spent with non-Apple products where there are much better repair support and without the hassles. Goodbye Apple!
I want to thank all the staff at the Apple Store in the city Galerie for all their help and patience. Their customer service was outstanding.
Especially Herr Konrad, who was so kind and understanding about my ignorance about my own phone.
Thank you👍
