Recommendation: Go to the Apple Store for Repairs
If you’re facing issues with your Apple products, I highly suggest going directly to an Apple Store. My experience with Comacs was both costly and frustrating – they are significantly more expensive, lack transparency, and don’t offer reliable service guarantees. I chose Comacs for a laptop repair due to time constraints, but I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same disappointing experience.
Here’s what happened:
• Comacs charged €65 (I have corrected this amount from my second edit because I wrote it wrongly) just to inspect the device, with no repairs included. They soon came back with a diagnosis and an estimate of nearly €1,000 (excluding the inspection fee), which I agreed to.
• *4 days after the promised time frame*, they told me they’d need to charge an additional €700+ for another part they “had to replace” that they hadn’t included in the original estimate. It made me wonder if this issue arose during their repair process. 🤦🏻♀️
• When I decided not to continue with the repair, they tried to charge me another €60 for a whatever-nonsense service fee. They should have identified all issues from the start when they charged the initial €65 and should not be piling on fees when no repairs have even been done. (and I’m not sure if this inspecting fee will be deducted in the repairing fee as it’s not stated on the quotation they sent me or orally informed me in advance)
By comparison, at the Apple Store, the initial inspection is free. If the technicians can’t fix the issue on-site, they provide a clear repair estimate and send the device to the factory if needed – all with a guarantee on the quoted price and assurance that everything will be fully repaired upon return.
*The Apple store guaranteed me that they will not charge further more fee even if they inspect more issues from the first inspecting during the repairing, the quote fee from the beginning will be the maximum, it’s won’t pile up.but the only chance will be that you could have to pay less.*
This is the most important fact I have to address from what Comacs couldn’t have!!
it’s just my POV, go to the Apple Store to repair your device if you want a guarantee.
I regret choosing Comacs for the sake of speed. in the end, I’ve wasted even more time for a week for nothing, just to heard from them again to tell me they need to charge more for one more part they also have to replace. It ended up being an extremely expensive, unprofessional, and unreliable experience. Their lack of pricing transparency feels unfair and unethical. They did ask me to pay extra fees when I decided not to continue the repair with them, and I can reassure that they were asking me to pay, but not they compensate me, because I clarified with them 2 times, “are you serious you now have to ask me to pay €60+ just to take my laptop back?, and of course I rejected, I insist to avoid this fee that I don’t think it makes any sense.” Avoid Comacs if you want a straightforward, trustworthy repair experience.
It is a matter of great regret and shame that they have written premium in front of the shop but the service there are very poor. They gave me only 89% of the watch in return whereas they should have given me 100% of it. I returned my watch within 3 days, which should be returned in time frame of 14 days. Earlier, also I had installed ScreenProtector on my iPhone from here, which was broken within 3 days. And now instead of providing Apple service, they talk more about the insurance they provide. I will never go to this store again and I will not recommend anyone to go there.
I am seriously disappointed with the customer service here. I brought my Mac in last week to have the macOS system reinstalled because I stupidly deleted it while attempting to factory reset my computer due to some keypad issues. The first person I spoke to was very nice, and I was delighted to hear that reinstalling the system wouldn’t be too expensive (€65). They assured me that this was why my computer wouldn’t turn on and that it should work fine after the reinstall. Two days later, they called me to pick up my computer. I was thrilled and thought, ‘Great, problem solved,’ but of course, I was mistaken. When I got home and tried my Mac, everything seemed to work ok until I watched something online (Netflix, Disney, etc.) and heard a strange sound coming from the speakers. I brought it back hoping to find a solution to this new problem. However, they denied any responsibility for the speaker issue and insisted that I pay for the examination and repair, or simply ‘use headphones.’ They suggested that the speakers might have been damaged when I carried the computer home in my bag that day or earlier (although it definitely wasn’t there before). I suspect they might have been damaged while they were working on it, but ultimately, it was their word against mine. We’ll never know for sure what happened, and I’ll admit that. However, I find they could have at least covered the examination costs out of basic decency and customer care to see what the problem was. Especially as there is a chance that they might have been the ones to damage it. I was incredibly frustrated and felt very poorly attended to, leaving me in a bad mood and extremely annoyed, especially since I know that even with a new computer, I’ll have to go back there if I have any problems, as it’s the only Apple shop around here.
I took my MacBookPro into the store today (18.08.2015) because I had a problem during my Seminar in Holland where I could not connect with the Beamer that was provided. I was told by an employee to bring my MacBook into the store and they could check it out with there beamer in the store. I presented the problem today and they took my Computer and patch cable up to the technician to have it checked. They brought my Computer back and said that the patch cable was OK, I as if they had tried the computer with a Beamer and the answer I received was no, they are to busy and that if I want it checked out I would need to submit a work order and leave it in the store and that would take 5-7 days.
5-7 days just to see if there is a problem or not. How long does it take to connect a computer to a Beamer to see if there is a problem? Sorry, but this is not what I call service! Costumer service is not one of the strong points and I will think twice about spending anymore money at this store.
NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
This store is the worst. They offer incredibly bad customer service, not willing to repair a product on guarantee , despite me having clearly the right on my side. They keep arguing about it and if I had the money, I’d get a lawyer… Never, ever again will I buy something there.
